Schweitzer Mountain Resort is a high-end hotel located in the mountains. Throughout the year, they offer cozy lodging for skiers wanting to warm up after a day on the slopes. And while they might specialize in mountain getaways, their wedding packages have made them the best-kept secret in all of Idaho! As a Coeur d’Alene wedding photographer, I get the chance to tour some of the top venues in the area. Here’s all you need to know for your Schweitzer Mountain wedding!
10000 Schweitzer Mountain Road, Sandpoint, Idaho 83864
Schweitzer Mountain Resort is a 2,900-acre park and wedding venue located just 80 miles from Spokane. The resort started out as the dream of Jack Fowler, a man who swung by the area while coming back from a ski vacation in Washington. He gathered some investors together, and they went to work! The first chairlift was put into use in 1963, and the hotel has been a hit ever since! Today, you can spend all day skiing in the mountains before heading back to the resort to stay in style.
Schweitzer Mountain Resort is a highly versatile venue that gives you tons of options for your wedding day. Because it offers lodging, you can stay on the grounds and get ready for your wedding inside your hotel room. This way, you will have a comfortable spot to relax once the party is over.
The most popular outdoor ceremony spot is Mountain Top Patio. Located at the top of the Summit, you will exchange your vows on top of the world! This area is available with a chairlift, and it can accommodate up to 200 guests.
If you would prefer to be a little closer to the Earth, you can try out the Creekside Express Patio. This paved area is located next to the chairlift, with views spanning the mountains. You will be able to host up to 200 guests here.
For your reception, you can choose between several spots, the North Room being the most popular option. This space is warm and rustic, with wooden beams running across the exposed ceiling. The floor-to-ceiling windows let in some pretty exceptional views! At this location, you can host up to 180 guests. Near the Mountain Top Patio, you can use the Sky House, an intimate restaurant with views overlooking the mountains. You can host up to 100 guests here. If you do decide to host a cocktail hour, the venue will help you find the best spot close to your wedding site.
With Schweitzer Mountain wedding venue, you will absolutely have to get outdoor pictures with the mountains as your backdrop! No matter the season, this view is going to give you the ideal way to celebrate the area! I also personally love using the chairlift to get couples’ portraits in the air!
Schweitzer Mountain Resort will make sure you have everything you need for your ideal celebration. The venue will take care of all the food for your reception, and they will handle seating and tables. There is parking on-site, and you can reserve resort rooms for any guests. The venue will provide you with an event planner to keep things moving smoothly.
