When you are planning your engagement photo session, you want a spot that will effortlessly match your style. From open country fields to the downtown streets, there is certainly no shortage of spots you can choose from. Now, it’s just a matter of narrowing down your options! Look, I get that this can be pretty hard. As a Spokane engagement photographer, I get the chance to support countless couples as they make this decision. If you could use some help figuring it all out, let me tell you about my favorite sessions: rooftop engagement photos!
Spokane offers a vibrant backdrop for rooftop engagement photos with that gorgeous combination of both historic and modern buildings. When you plan your session on the rooftop, you are going to take full advantage of the surrounding skyscrapers. During your session, we are going to take the time to figure out the right angles. Is there a certain building you’ve always loved? Are there colors that match those of your ceremony? Let’s find them together! And while most cities make you choose between the natural and urban style, the Spokane skyline lets you effortlessly incorporate both for the ultimate celebration of this great city.
Let me let you in on a little secret: while public spots might give you some incredible backdrops, you are going to have to fight to be the star of the show. Typically, spots like landmarks and parks face an influx of visitors trying to enjoy the same view you are currently using as a backdrop. So sometimes you’re not going to be the only focus of the pics. On the rooftop, however, you are going to have an engagement photo spot in the city that’s all your own. Not only are you going to get to shine throughout your pictures, but you are also going to feel so much more comfortable. You can still take full advantage of the city without struggling with the unnecessary embarrassment that can sometimes accompany these sessions.
Lastly, the vibes up in rooftop engagement photos are going to be phenomenal. Think of all the aspects of the city that make it so unique, like the industrial concrete and the weathered brick. Just because you’re up above these features doesn’t mean you have to lose out on them. Some of my favorite rooftop locations include parking garages, private gardens, and apartment patios. Trust me, you are going to get all the vibes of the city without any of the chaos. And don’t worry; if you want more of the noise and the crowds, we can always start your session a little closer to the earth.
So, what do you think? Are rooftop engagement photos right for you and your partner? If you think the answer might be yes, I would love to talk about it more! Let’s have a conversation and go over all the best locations so you can go into your session feeling confident! Send me a message today so we can connect!
